Selectron Celebrates 20 Years of Service and Innovation
We’re excited to celebrate a major milestone—20 years of providing security solutions to the Bermuda community. What started with a simple Nissan March and a Nokia phone has grown into a company with a fleet of vans, cutting-edge technology, and a dedicated team.
From attending every Bermuda Realty Home Show to earning prestigious awards, including the Honeywell Impact Award, we’ve come a long way. We are deeply grateful for the support of our clients, staff, and partners, and look forward to many more successful years!
The Early Days
This is where it all started 20 years ago. After starting Selectron Ltd. I then needed a vehicle and with my wife’s consent, and belief that it was the start of something great, we turned our personal Nissan March car into the Selectron company vehicle. You see the Nissan March does not have the tracks for a roof rack so back in 2004 a roof rack was screwed to the roof by a local provider and when it rained it was the drivers side that got the worst of it! Despite having only this vehicle to carry everything, it was a great experience, yes even the wet drivers side. It wasn’t practical for what was needed and after two attempts with TCD we got our very first van.
The Company Phone
This little Nokia was my first Selectron business cell phone which really did serve its purpose until calls were simply not enough and email took over the business side of things. I then moved up to the Treo, anyone remember that one?, then onto the Blackberry and finally Android.
The Company Vans
After having our application for a first van approved by TCD we bought a Nissan Vanette from Rayclan. From there we soon needed a second vehicle so after driving around in a personal Peugeot Estate car we secured second TCD application to purchase a second hand Renault Kangoo. We then progressed over the years from Peugeot Partner Vans to a fleet of 8 Nissan NV200’s.

Chris Comes On Board
February 2015 was a major milestone for Selectron. My good friend Chris Worsick became my partner in the business. Knowing Chris already, as a friend, and also having experienced him as Captain of our beloved BAA Football Club, I knew I could not have found a more dedicated and determined person to get into the trenches with me. This was a turning point for the business and time of great change and innovation. We were up nightly into the early hours of the mornings and to our families we have to give our heart felt thanks for sticking by us while we had to do what was necessary to get on top of everything that was happening at that time. This took some 6+ months but we got there and learnt some valuable lessons during that time.
Bermuda Realty Home Show
We have attended every home that Bermuda Realty showcased and had great success with our security booth which allowed us to showcase our new home security CCTV and Intruder Alarm technology over the years. We also gained some super clients over the years.
Honeywell Award
After being invited to attend the 2011 Honeywell Conference in Montego Bay we were awarded the Honeywell Impact Award for sales in the Honeywell Home Intruder Alarm sector. To this day we are very proud of this award and continue to work closely with Honeywell Resideo and their intruder alarm systems. Our time working Closely with Gavy Barrett and Rodrigo Mena truly helped us in our growth.

After being invited to the Honeywell Connect 2021 event in Orlando we couldn’t have been happier after receiving an award for Outstanding Innovation and Great Commitment to Customer Service. Our thanks to Carlos Guerrero while he was at Honeywell it really was a great time and having you committed to assisting us will always be remembered.
Vans and Techs
When I started Selectron 20 years ago, out of our car, a small Nissan March, never would I have thought we would be where we are today. We have experienced many ups and downs, but it truly is part of the journey and has built a determination and a resilience to take on any challenge that is presented with the vision to succeed. We are all learning in life each day and it is all about working with a team, and a family, that support your goals and ideas. Reflecting on 20 years and seeing where we are today – a company with a super team, a valued client base and fleet of 7 vans, with another on the way, we are truly thankful to all. The importance of our staff members, both present and past, along with all our clients who without them believing in our service and products we would not be where we are today.
We would like to extend a big thanks to all of our distribution partners Inaxsys, Silmar, Honeywell, VES/Hochiki, to name a few, who have worked with us side by side in providing the very best in security and life safety products.
